• ACMS Vocabulary Announcement 

Libby comes from a long line of bullies. She wants to be perceived differently, but sometimes that doesn’t work out. Now she's suspended again.

On the opposite side of the country lives Vincent, a kid who loves the mathematician Katherine Johnson and being a non-conformist, who’s trying hard not to get stuffed into lockers at his new school. But that’s not working out too well either.  

Nearby is T, who couldn’t stand the notion of living at home anymore and is determined to survive on a rainy sidewalk.

And then there’s Jack, a big-hearted kid so consumed by the fight to keep his small rural school open that he’s lost focus on the ones who need him most.

Flight of the Puffin by Ann Braden details the lives of four kids and their four concurrent lives.  One small act of kindness ripples out to connect the four and starts a chain reaction, helping each kid summon the thing they need, whether it’s bravery, empathy, or understanding. But best of all, it brings vindication to all four and makes each one realize they matter -- and that they're not flying solo anymore.

• Girls basketball will practice from 3:00-4:30 and Cross Country will practice from 3:00-4:15.

• This weekend marked race #2 of the 2021 Mountain Biking season with some intense racing in Eau Claire against the best riders from across the state and beyond.   ACMS riders included Anna Marrero, Austin Moser, Axel Beck, Ben Beilke, Drew Maglio, Luke Serbian and Sean Williams.  Be sure to congratulate them on some great riding this weekend. Pewaukee’s team moved up in the statewide standings as a result of this strong riding, and the ACMS riders were riding faster than ever.  Pewaukee’s team moved up to 11th in the statewide standings as a result of this strong riding.

• And finally, on the menu for lunch today. Roasted turkey with gravy, cheese pizza, or a classic cheeseburger.
