Can my child use a cell phone or electronic device at school?

Students may not use their cell phone to call or text during the school day unless given specific permission by a staff member. Students are encouraged not to bring cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, CD players, cameras or other portable electronic equipment to school because of distractions created and the possibility of loss or damage to the equipment as there is not a place for students to secure their items during the school day. If students are using their cell phone or IPod without permission from a staff member, it may be confiscated until the end of the day. Additionally, parents may be asked to pick up the devices at the school office.
