Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!  This year students will investigate the culture and language of Spanish-speaking countries while progressing through the ACTFL Intermediate proficiency levels. Students will develop strategies and Spanish skills necessary to navigate uncomplicated,  social situations where requiring an exchange of basic information, survive in the target culture, ask questions, and give detailed personal information.  Students with have opportunities to develop language proficiency across the three modes of communication: Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational. A wide variety of spoken and written materials will be used to train students to understand Spanish in formal and informal situations, and to enhance their abilities to express themselves accurately and resourcefully, both orally and in writing. I encourage all students throughout the year to practice their Spanish as often as they can.
